Why should I use a spring over a bumper?
Springs are a lot stiffer than bumpers. The springs are prefect for tables that use heavy metal men such as Rene Pierre tables. The force of the men (because they weigh more) will destroy a rubber buffer bumper in a few games, so it's better to use a spring. If your men are plastic (as most tables are) we suggest you stay with a bumper because they do not wear down as fast.
